John Burrell, President and CEO of High Adventure Company and SA Adventures, has been an avid outdoorsman since his childhood in Anderson County, Tennessee. As one of the most respected professionals in the outdoor industry, John has 25 years of experience managing some of the world’s top sporting destinations. He has been heavily involved with the development, marketing, and operations of a collection of high end lodges on three continents. He also formed a successful international outfitting firm for outdoor powerhouse Mossy Oak/Haas Outdoors and was the youngest partner in their recreational real estate firm, Mossy Oak Properties.
A Certified Wildlife Biologist and award-winning outfitter, John was chosen as the lead guide to help legendary clothing manufacturer, Eddie Bauer, design and test their Sport Shop clothing line. This line of outdoor clothing has won more awards than any of its kind. Properties in his company portfolio have been featured in most of the world’s top sporting publications such as Sporting Classics and Shooting Sportsman, as well as The New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Garden & Gun, Mens Journal, Southern Bride magazine as well as most of the outdoor industry television series. He is the co-host of the popular Emmy nominated television series, Brush Country Monsters, on the Pursuit Channel, and was featured weekly on ESPN’s Under Wild Skies as an international outfitting expert. In addition to winning the Garden and Gun Magazine Best of the Sporting South Award, his company is the only four-time recipient of the Sporting Classics Magazine Award of Excellence. His experience was gained in the field guiding clients all over the world, having been on over 30 African safaris and at least that many trips to various destinations throughout South America. He takes pride in providing all his clients the best experience possible and always goes the extra-mile to ensure that quality. John is a sportsman and a conservation advocate, and his company is entrusted with some of the most unique environments in the world including the mouth of the Mississippi River, an entire Hawaiian island, and one of the premier river systems in Patagonia, Argentina.
Sean has a unique and extensive background in the outdoor luxury travel and hospitality management fields, merging his passion as an outdoorsman and his experience in the hospitality industry.
A graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture, Wildlife and Fisheries Management, Sean also attended Tennessee Tech University to earn a master’s degree in Fisheries Management. He carries a second master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Texas Technical University.
Sean has worked as a field biologist for the fisheries and wildlife agencies of both Tennessee and Alabama, and has traveled extensively in the pursuit of his outdoor passions. He currently serves as the High Adventure Company’s executive chef in our “Exclusive Lodge Management” program, director of outside sales for the company, and the general manager for Cheyenne Ridge Signature Lodge and the North Platte Outpost.
Charlotte serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the High Adventure Company at Port Eads, our marina in the Gulf of Mexico, and she is Controller for the High Adventure Company. She holds a Bachelors degree in accounting from the Georgia State University and a Masters degree in accounting from University of New Orleans. She enjoys spending time on the lake with her family in the summer.
Director of Operations, Drew has a profound love of travel that is only rivaled by his passion for the outdoors. He is a well-versed traveler, having backpacked through Europe and guided ski trips in the mountains of Colorado. Drew spent this past season guiding at our South Dakota and Nebraska operations and is just returning from an extensive travel throughout Africa and South America. Drew oversees operations and outreach at our Port Eads Marina.
Lila Warren is an avid outdoorswoman who grew up fishing and hunting in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She has fished, hunted, and hiked all over the country. She holds a Bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, and Conservation Biology from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in Fisheries Biology from Tennessee Technological University. She has more than six years of work experience with environmental nonprofit organizations and state natural resource conservation agencies, and has worked as a fishing guide. Now she is the Director of Operations for our fishing business.
Kevin and Mary Jo are JB’s partners in our world renowned Tipiliuke lodge in northern Patagonia. With seven years in Tierra del Fuego managing Kau Tapen Lodge, and more than twenty years leading the team at Tipiliuke Lodge, they have become experts at making every single guest feel unique.
Jason is High Adventure Company’s saltwater advisor. Since 1990 Jason has been guiding fishermen and women to some of the largest redfish in the world. He is sponsored by all the big names in the fishing world and his knowledge of the Mississippi Delta and the marshes surrounding Port Eads is unrivaled.
With a solid understanding of what a hunter wants, and the high-tech media tools used in the outdoor industry, Seth is President of Outdoors Interactive and brings the world of hunting and fishing to life on the web and HDTV. Responsible for all our multimedia marketing, his award-winning web design and TV production have earned him the reputation as one of the country’s top multimedia outdoor production specialists. He has extensive travel experience in Africa, New Zealand, and South America. Combining these talents with a passion for the outdoors, Seth is a true leader in his field, and serves as the executive producer of our popular, five-time Emmy nominated Brush Country Monsters TV series.
Travis studied wildlife management at Horry Georgetown Technical College before transferring to Clemson University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resource Management with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy. During his time at Clemson, Travis worked as a land and wildlife management intern at the 23,000 acre Eden Hall Plantation in McCormick, South Carolina. His passion for fishing and hunting are what led him to his current position at High Adventure Company as the Lodge Manager at Port Eads Marina. Travis is originally from North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Contracted North American Big Game Consultant for the H.A.C., Todd brings his years of experience as a avid North American big game hunter to the team. Having hunted Mule Deer from the Sonora Deserts of Mexico to Stone Sheep in the high Mountainous regions of B.C., Todd has more passion and understanding of the sport than anyone in the industry.
