Botswana Tiger Fishing

Nxamaseri Island Lodge is a unique experience that should be on every angler’s bucket list. This small, exclusive lodge is located on a private island in the permanent waters of Botswana’s Okavango Delta and is one of the oldest lodges in the region. Due to its prime location, Nxamaseri is arguably the top Tiger Fishing destination in the world.

Of the many freshwater fish that call Africa home, the Tiger Fish is one that stimulates the imagination for its well-deserved reputation of aggression, paired with its electrifying runs and leaps. Through an exclusive partnership, High Adventure Company has secured the fishing rights at this renowned property to offer guests an angler’s paradise.

Tiger Fishing in Botswana

During the months of September through November, during the annual Delta drawdown, large schools of Barbel, also known as the African Sharptooth Catfish, migrate upstream in the main river channel. During this time, the catfish feed extensively prior to spawning on shallow floodplains during the annual floods from Angola. This migration of catfish, paired with the overwhelming presence of Tiger Fish, creates a feeding frenzy rivaling any in nature and must be experienced to be believed.

Accommodations

Nxamaseri is a secluded lodge with a total of nine chalets all set beneath the forest canopy. Each chalet is privately situated on its own teak deck. Bedrooms are quiet havens with open access to a seating area on a private deck. Each evening will see guests’ beds turned down and if there is a chill in the air, hot water bottles are tucked in under the blankets as a welcome surprise for tired guests.

Fishing Seasons

We offer trips to this exclusive location from September through November.
