HIGH ADVENTURE COMPANY’S OWNER, JOHN BURRELL, IS THE AMERICAN PARTNER IN TIPILIUKE LODGE, THE PIONEER IN WILD QUAIL HUNTING IN SOUTH AMERICA
Tipiluke has been called “one of the best kept secrets in the wing shooting world.” We agree. There’s fabulous California quail hunting to be found here.
While quail hunting has historically taken a back seat to Patagonia’s world-renowned fly fishing and free range stag hunting, Patagonia’s large coveys of hard flying California quail, some as large as 100 birds strong, are now attracting more widespread attention.
With its unique location in the foothills of the Andes, Tipiluke is surrounded by Argentina’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Located on 50,000 acres of land, Tipiluke is an ideal setting to experience exceptional wingshooting, fly fishing, skiing, horseback riding and mountain biking. The refined gourmet cuisine and personalized service provided by Kevin, Mary Jo and the entire Tipiluke team ensure that hunters, fly fishers and outdoor enthusiasts alike return time and time again to enjoy our luxurious lodge in the heart of Patagonia.
A Quail Hunt
Hunters follow well trained pointing dogs through the valley in search of the large coveys. Unlike quail in western states, their South American cousins tend to hold incredibly well for the point dogs. Hunters can expect to see multiple large coveys of quail daily.
Quail Hunting Season
Patagonia quail season begins May 1st and ends May 31st
After a day in the field, return to the comfort of the world-renowned Tipiliuke Lodge, where you will enjoy the hospitality and impeccable service that make Argentina famous. Featuring nine private rooms, Tipiluke is one of only two properties in South America to be included in Taschen’s list of the top 72 hotels in world!
Weather & Travel
Hunters can expect mild temperatures through most of the season.
After arriving at Buenos Aires Ezeisa International airport, guests will be met by our ground staff and escorted to the nearby regional airport for a two-hour flight to the ski resort of San Martin De Los Andes. From there, it is roughly a seven-minute drive to the lodge.
Direct flights to Buenos Aires are available from Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Houston, New York and other gateway cities.
