Patagonia is a geographic region containing the southernmost portion of South America. Located in Argentina and Chile, it comprises the southernmost portion of the Andes mountains to the west and south, and plateau and low plains to the east. The name Patagonia comes from the word patagón used by Magellan to describe the native people whom his expedition thought to be giants. Tipiliuke is a unique place located in the foothills of the Andes, surrounded by Argentina’s most breathtaking natural splendors. The Estancia’s 50,000 acres of land offers endless activities in addition to the fly fishing from skiing to horseback riding to mountain biking. Enjoy the refined gourmet cuisine and knowledgeable personalized service at this luxurious and exclusive lodge, while experiencing world-class fishing in the heart of Patagonia.

In 2011 Tipiliuke was voted the “Worlds Top Fishing Lodge” by Sporting Classics Magazine

Fishing at Tipiliuke lodge is about as exciting as it gets with twelve private miles of gin clear water and three miles of spring creek, offering clients a diversity of water not often found at other lodges. In addition, pressure on the various beats is kept to a bare minimum assuring clients an excellent experience regardless of what time of the season they visit the lodge. During the months of late December thru February the waters at Tipiliuke are known for their prolific hatches of yellow mayflies and some of the most exciting dry fly fishing in the world. Each year monster trout are landed in Tipiliuke’s waters. If you are looking for numbers, they can produce those as well. In addition, the ranch sits on one of Patagonia’s world-renowned hunting properties with some of the best free range stag hunting imaginable. California quail may also be hunted starting April 15th. Complete a Patagonia “Grand Slam” with trophy red stag, a dozen California quail, a Russian boar, a Rainbow Trout, and a Brown trout.

Patagonia fishing season is open from November 1st thru May 31st. With the private spring creek, we can fish twelve months a year at Tipiliuke.

Fisherman can expect large numbers of fish most of the year, with the spring thru early fall being the best time.

Getting There

American anglers arrive into Buenos Aires Ezeisa International airport where they will be met by our ground staff and escorted to the regional airport roughly forty-five minutes across town. From the regional airport, Aeroparque, hunters will fly about two hours south to the ski resort of San Martin De Los Andes. When clients land in San Martin, they are landing on Estancia Tipiliuke, which donated the land for the airport. It is roughly a seven minute drive to the lodge. Hunters can depart the US from several gateway cities including Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Houston, New York among others for the direct flight to Buenos Aires.

Fisherman can expect mild temperatures during most of the season. Average temps during the fishing season would vary from 40 to mid 80’s .
